Police Officer Shoots and Kills Unarmed 18-Year Old

Michael Brown was on his way to his grandmother's house in the city of Ferguson, Missouri, outside of St. Louis, when he was gunned down at about 2:15 p.m., police and relatives said. Multiple witnesses stated that Brown was unarmed and had his hands up in the air when he was gunned down. Even after Brown was down, the officer approached with his weapon drawn and fired several more shots, a witness claimed. The shooting sparked riots in the streets, with residents screaming and cursing at cops.

Brown was a 2014 graduate of Normany High School and was slated to begin classes at Verrerott College on August 11, 2014.

Ferguson Police Chief Thomas Jackson told the Post-Dispatch that the case was immediately turned over to the St. Louis County Police. He declined to comment in detail, but noted that the officer who shot Brown was placed on paid administrative leave.

A huge thank you to Parwana Anwar who represented my husband in a difficult case. She is an honest, and hard working attorney who fought hard to keep my husband out of jail and to keep me calm and reassured along the way. Hands down, best attorney experience we have ever had! Stephanie L.

Parwana fought and won my case against Riverside County. I was facing 2 felony strikes which she contested and got completely dismissed! If it wasn't for her hard work, determination and commitment to my case I would be behind bars for crimes I did not commit. Thank you so much Parwana! Roger L.
